A maior celebração da TV americana!
No último domingo, foi ao ar a sexagésima nona edição do Emmy Awards, a maior premiação dedicada à televisão norte-americana. A cerimônia visa premiar os melhores atores, criadores, programas e séries do ano, e é a equivalente televisiva ao Oscar.
2016 – e parte de 2017 – foi uma época muito frutífera para a TV, com o surgimento de novos programas e séries e o apogeu cada vez maior dos serviços de streaming, como a Netflix e a Hulu. A cerimônia de 2017 reconheceu todos esses fatores, trazendo prêmios brilhantes para séries como The Handmaid’s Tale, Black Mirror e The Crown.

The Handmaid’s Tale saiu como a grande vencedora da noite, arrecadando cinco prêmios de suas sete indicações. A minissérie da HBO, Big Little Lies também ganhou a mesma quantidade de troféus, contra oito indicações. Saturday Night Live, como de costume, abocanhou quatro prêmios. Em termos de emissora, a HBO foi a sortuda da cerimônia, levando dez prêmios.
